Pinnacle's healthcare portfolio features hospital building additions and in-hospital suite renovations at multiple locations in Virginia. We have also performed structural condition surveys at a multi-building behavioral treatment center in the Virginia tidewater region.

  • Entrance Canopy
    This free-standing canopy welcomes visitors to the $6.9 milliion Shenandoah Memorial Hospital Ambulatory Surgery Addition. The architecturally exposed structural steel cantilevers twenty feet beyond the tapered built-up steel columns that are anchored to eccentric spread footings.
  • Surgery Unit Addition
    The new addition adds 14,000 SF of medical service space within the one story steel framed building over a partial basement.
  • Exterior Patio
    The wood patio pergola is supported by built-up architecturally exposed structural steel columns.
  • Steel Framing
    The entry and lobby roof framing under construction.
  • Entrance Canopy - Before
    The entrance and exit canopies are self-supporting.

  • Hospital Suite Renovations
    Pinnacle has provided structural consulting services for various medical suite renovations. Work includes analysis of existing floor structures for new loadings, and design of supports for new medical equipment. Pinnacle has project experience at the U.Va. Health System, Valley Health System (Winchester Medical Center and Shenandoah Memorial Hospital), and Rockingham Memorial Hospital.

    The single-story, self-supported Data Center wing added 7000 SF to the existing facility. The total construction cost was $4.5 million.

  • Distress Evaluation
    Pinnacle investigated cases of masonry cracks throughout building walls, as well as observed roof bowing, assessed remediation methods, and coordinated a repair estimate report with the contractor.
