Pinnacle is pleased to have worked at Monticello directly for the Thomas Jefferson Foundation on multiple occasions. Several of Pinnacle's other preservation projects are also listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

    Pinnacle Engineering provided structural engineering evaluation and design services directly for the Thomas Jefferson Foundation during restoration of Monticelllo's North Cellar Terrace.

Various Structural Assessment & Renovation Projects

  • Hunton Hall Student Center Renovation
    Originally First Baptist Church, designed in 1841 by the same architect that designed the U.S. Capitol, the building was bought by Virginia Commonwealth University and converted to a student center. Pinnacle Engineering provided structural analysis and design services for this $3.5 million renovation project.
  • Hunton Hall Renovation - Construction Phase
    The existing building structure consisted of masonry bearing walls with wood and steel framing members. Work included design for replacement of floor structures, reinforcement of wood floor joists, and addition of structural steel framing to accommodate significant new bearing wall openings.

    Pinnacle Engineering was structural engineer for the restoration of this historic train depot in the Shenandoah Valley.
